Warm days

These days are again very warm. Celia is at aquagym and people can practice and be fresh.

Miss Mini Camping 2013

 

Tonight there has been the Miss Mini Caming event, in the terrace of the Internet Cafe. A big applause for all the participants and the animation team.

New playground already usable

The new children's playground area is already being used. Some details are still missing and we will be completing it in the next months. It is intended for children from 6 years old and the design makes it very safe while requiring a good deal of effort and enthusiasm to cross some paths.

Details in the multisports court

The multisports court is now completely finished with the addition of a sign with the prohibited actions, and an indication that balls can be borrowed from the reception, at no cost (in case you don't bring your own). A very important point, the court will be free to use. By now we don't make reservation lists since it is easier if you can go and inmediately play. If later in the high season there are conflicts we will have to rethink it, but it will be nicer if we can keep it without any list.
There are also lights for the night (if the guards don't automatically turn them on just ask them please), so you can play until 23:00, afterwards it is prohibited because the camping has to be more and more free of noises.

Welcome new football / basketball field

The new activities that are going to replace the minigolf are: 4 ping pong tables and a football / basketball field.
During these last years we had 2 ping pong tables below the old swimming pool. The place was rather terrible because the ceiling was low and also because there were some camping plots just in front of it that were disturbed by the noise. Now we move these tables to the new location and add two more.
We have been having a green football field outside the campsite, quite big, but the inconvenience is that the door to that place needs to be open, and this poses security issues, because easily non-clients could enter the campsite without control. The football field also was sometimes 'occupied' by cows that escaped from nearby fields and that made the area dirty, even breaking the nets of the football goals. The new football area will add basketball facilities and will be totally inside the campsite.
In the next weeks we are going to report about the progress that is been made. We hope to have it ready in about one month.

Goodbye minigolf

As you may have been suspecting these last months, the minigolf is going to dissappear in this 2013 season. We are going to replace it by some other activity that we hope will be equally or more successful among young people. This will be detailed in several days, in a new post.
Interest in the minigolf was high some thirty years ago, when it seemed that campsite went obligatory with a minigolf, but in the later years the trend seems to go in other directions. Moreover, our minigolf was full of palms and other plants that grew very much, so much that they were too dense for the small area. These plants will be now of very good use in the new playground area in front of the apartments.

Fishing competition

Fishing in the campsite, in the small river that runs across it, has become a fundamental hobby between the children. Today there is a fishing competition, organised by Fibi and Gemma of the animation team. They usually get to fish crabs, more specifically crayfishes of american origin. These crabs are, since a lot of years here, quite abundant, and so children have a lot of fun because it is almost guaranteed that they will get many of them! After collecting a bucket, many children use to throw them back to the river.

Lounge bar during the night

These last nights the new lounge bar is getting more and more visitors, billiard tables are often busy. There are still some details to add or change but it is already quite nice. Free WiFi is already working and smartphone users already know it.

Animation team dancing with the wolves

The high season is already in full throttle, and the animation team, here Fibi and Georgina, are almost every afternoon dancing with the children. There is also Celia who is, just at the same time, involved with fitness and aquagym sessions.

Preparing a new bar above the supermarket

Rumors have circulated during this last summer about the bar Amberes. Now we can say it for sure: bar Amberes is not going to open again in 2012. At this point it is still not decided what we are going to do in that building. It is possible that next summer that space is simply closed.
But we are right now preparing the alternative for 2012: a new bar above the supermarket. It is planned to be a kind of lounge bar, with rather confortable chairs or armchairs.
Decoration, furniture, painting... are still uncertain, as well as the name of this bar. It will habe a very BIG terrace, that some of you have already visited in its old state. We plan to open that space from early in the morning to late in the evening, probably until 12:00 PM. We hope that clients will use it in order to rest, to read a book, to hear some light music... At least until the evening it should be a quiet space. In the evening/night of the high season we may put some loud music, and so be atractive for young people.
We also plan to offer free WiFi inside this bar, in the rest of the campsite WiFi will not be free.
Comments, suggestions... are welcome. In the next weeks we will post updates on the project. And it should hopefully be finished by beginning May.

Last day of aquagym

Today is the last day of animation, aquagym, fitness... the monitors are going to leave in the next few days... here in the photo you see today's aquagym session, with Alex as monitor. The weather is still sunny, fine, the water is warm...

Last years we had animation activities only from 1 July to 25/31 August, this year we have extended that period from 15th June to 15th September. Next year we plan to do the same extended period, because it is important also in the low season, to have some activity to be fit or just to have fun.

Misscamping 2010

Yesterday night a set of brave ladies competed for the misscamping honor. Tipically in a women's play, the animators made them pass some cruel tests, in general practices were unfair... but at the end a lucky girl won ;-) and the rest will have to go to the psychologist to alleviate the trauma.

Mistercamping 2010

This saturday night there was a big party at the Bar Amberes, Mistercamping 2010. The candidates had to perform many difficult tests, and finally... here is the proud winner with a beautiful part of the animation team, Anna and Alex.

New music equipment for aquagym

Aquagym instructors were using a portable music equipment that was too small, because of the increasing number of people in the swimming pool area and in the activities. So, we have been looking for alternatives, and now we are using a new, less portable but more powerful music player. While still far from perfect, at least we hope that it will be enough for this season.

Refreshing in aquagym

Today is an extremely hot day, and the aquagym lesson is a good way to make some sport without becoming too tired.
