One more door of too many

Amazing how the new lounge bar needs a huge quantity of doors: fire-resistant, emergency doors... here you see two builders fixing a door in the correct place. At the right side of that door there is a cabinet that contains all the electrical switches for the lights and air-conditioning. You can also see that there is some wood floor around it, so this has also progressed a little bit.

Starting the floor inside

Also the wood floor inside is beginning to appear. Here a carpenter puts a natural pine wood, with just a darker color. Afterwards it will all need an special paint againt fire.

Wood in the terrace, just starting

Wood floor in the terrace is just starting. First the carpenters have to put some wood lines where the definitive wood floor will be fixed. It will be a long work, about a month, since also wall portions as well as the railing are going to be covered in wood.

Time for a new truck

After a lot of years using old vehicles, this winter we have bought a new small truck, that will be used each morning to collect the garbage bags, as well as for various tasks that the gardeners may need. Its is a Nissan Cabstar, but the body has been customized in order to easily charge / discharge the garbage bags. In addition, it is not noisy. We have tried it during these first days and it seems to work well. Anyway, it will be during the high season that we will really appreciate the difference.

Updated bridge

New camping sign also for the bridge in front of the campsite, of course, as a consequence of our name change. Here we have changed the format and choosed a smaller one, half the size of the older, so that the plants inside the river gain visibility.

Work on the terrace's railing

As the terrace of the lounge bar progresses, details are being finished. Here a smith puts the railing, that later will be partially covered with wood. We are aiming at a 1st June opening of the lounge bar.

The beach one day before the 2012 season

These last days have been rather warm and sunny, today there is a fresh breeze, but nonetheless there are some people already tanning and enjoying the beach in front of us. The season starts as normal and tomorrow we open the campsite ! We will continue reporting on the progress of the work in the new pub, but the supermarket is ready, as well as the restaurant, the swimming pool and all the rest.

Supermarket getting ready

In three days the supermarket will open. Here you see the carpenter, Paquito, finishing changes in the furniture of the ice cream sales point: it will allow for more surface and for a new refrigerator that will come soon. There are still a lot of details to finish, but at least we will be able to open with the basic functionality.

Terrace progressing slowly

Work in the terrace is progressing slower than planned. While have had some rainy days, the delay is mostly due to the task taking much more effort than initially thought. Also, the carpenter will need much more days than planned. As a result, the opening day for the lounge bar will have to move to the beginning of June. Because this bar is a new offer in the campsite, this is not going to disrupt the normal functioning of the rest of the services.

Also wood inside, preparations

A wooden deck, also inside the new lounge bar, should warm the appearance, afterall an industrial design may be too cold when brought to its maximum. Here Ramon is putting some very light concrete between the wood pieces that are going to be the basis for the wooden deck.
